I’m Jake Millhiser, and welcome to my website. My goal with this website is to serve as:

• A vehicle for providing my resume/CV (gotta up those sometime).
• Showcase projects, software, programs, etc. A lot of this are random personal projects I’ve done, with no enterprise use or any warranty.
• A eventual source of installation guides and tutorials. I like guides which are as simple as possible, and require little package installations. I don’t want to install some proprietary IDE that no one actually uses in practice to learn some programming language (for example).

This website serves as a way for me to dive into different aspects of website development. However, I didn’t create this website from scratch. I’ve created this website using Jekyll, which is a static site generator.

Using Jekyll was basically a means for me to have a base html template that could be imported so I could dynamically change the highlighted navbar element above. See my blog for a mini rant about this :).
